For the People… Youth to the People

When it comes to cleansing my sensitive skin I have a very basic routine,  I remove my makeup with coconut oil then bio derma and use a very mild soap. This came about after having a bad reaction to skin products a couple years ago. I slowly have been reintegrating products into my cleansing routine ever since. I was doing research and came across a recurring recommendation in clean beauty...YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE.

A Little Background:

The line itself is formulated, filled, and packaged in California. It is a family owned company that works in small batches, ensuring you’re getting the freshest and most effective product possible. All extracts are cold pressed and sourced in the United States. The company promises the following “Youth to the Peoples age prevention products keep your skin glowing and protect against free radical damage, environmental stresses, and redness.

So what exactly did I try... their highly rated Superfood Face Wash of course.

BUT...

Impressions & Reflections

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I will be honest I am a bit of a cleanser skeptic. Call me Goldilocks here, but when it came to cleansers I always seemed to be disappointed - “this ones too drying”, “this ones too rough”, “this ones too greasy” … until I found this one… and not to sound cliché but it was JUST RIGHT. It left my skin feeling clean, nourished, didn’t irritate my eyes and there was no overly fragranced smell. I was impressed that it took very little product to work up into a consistent lather, washed off easily and left behind no annoying residue.  After a few days use I did start to also feel like it was preventing the pore buildup as promised and keeping my skin more balanced and healthy.

I also love that it comes in glass versus plastic packaging and carries a clearly marked expiry date to ensure you are getting full benefits of the ingredients within.

Other Niceties

The cleanser is  100 percent vegan, cruelty free, good for all skin types, and is free of synthetic color and fragrance.

Love It, Leave It, Try It, Buy It

TRY IT

I think it does live up to most of the promises it makes. As far as it being age preventative – only time will tell (as it always does) however, reviewing the ingredients does suggest that some of the items included would aid in such a claim.

I find it incredibly refreshing for a quick cleanse and even enjoy the way it looks sitting on my counter top.

One word of caution: Be careful leaving this pretty packaged cleanser out on your vanity when guests come over – more than one of them has mistaken it for hand soap and although amazed by the results has dwindled my supply.

Overall this is a product that you can feel good about – wallet, mind and skin.

With Nice Things & Green Clean Skin,
Andrea
